Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process where competency is recognised from previous learning and experience without the need for further training and development.
Who can apply for RPL?
Application for RPL is open to everyone, however it is recommended that you first contact us to discuss your experience and the RPL process before applying.
What is the total number of units for which a participant can achieve RPL?
There is no limit to the number of units for which you can achieve RPL. It is possible, in some circumstances, for a highly experienced participant to achieve RPL in all units of competency. In this situation you would bypass all workshops and assessments, and gain your qualification at a significantly reduced cost.
How does the RPL assessment work?
An assessor will work with you to match your current skills and work roles and responsibilities with each unit of competency.
Together you will build an extensive portfolio of evidence which will be submitted for RPL assessment. This portfolio will contain evidence such as workplace reports, client feedback, peer assessment, supervisor’s references, and project documentation.
You will then receive an RPL Assessment Report detailing the units for which RPL has been approved.
Is RPL guaranteed?
No. To achieve RPL in each unit you must first show sufficient evidence of competency. For those units which evidence cannot be presented or is insufficient, you will be required complete a workshop.
How to apply for RPL
To apply for a qualification with RPL, complete the application form and indicate the units for which RPL is desired. You will then be contacted to book an interview with the RPL assessor.
Your enrolment will be complete once your RPL units have been finalised and the full program fee has been settled.
